Year 10 Pupils Showcase Talent and Dedication During Work Experience Week
Students at Thames Christian School recently completed a week of work experience, gaining invaluable insights into the professional world. From Dubai to creative studios and veterinary clinics, their placements were as diverse as their ambitions.
One student spent five days at Icon Investment Consultants in Dubai, where they built a database now being implemented by the company. They also created three PowerPoint presentations, covering topics such as database creation, cost analysis, and client acquisition strategies. On their final day, they were awarded a certificate by the Head of Finance and a generous AED500 (£108) bonus from the CEO, who praised their contributions.
Other highlights included Spencer, who honed his skills in a recording studio, learning the art of song mixing. Ana, inspired by an art school placement and a Vogue alumna, dreams of visiting Paris for design inspiration. Esther gained insight into sales and project management during her market research placement, while Elijah assisted in surgeries and conducted blood tests at a veterinary clinic.
These experiences have inspired the Year 10s and set them on exciting paths for the future.
