Fees
In today’s climate parents need to be more considered than ever when choosing a school. Value is not just about financial cost — it’s about the quality of care, the consistency of teaching, and the outcomes that follow. At Thames, value means knowing your child, walking alongside them and helping them grow into who they are meant to be.
Fees for the academic Year 2025/2026 are £8,580 per term exclusive of VAT (£10,296 per term inclusive of 20% VAT). Fees may be paid termly or monthly by direct debit. Discounts can be applied to Fees paid for in advance. When considering value parents should consider that Thames offers:
A teaching staff to pupil ratio of 1:6 with exceptional staff retention
Genuinely small classes ensuring a tailored approach to meet individual needs and aspirations (typically between 8 and 18 in KS3, between 6 and 16 in KS4 and tutorial sized classes in KS5)
A broad and highly flexible curriculum that allows pupils to pursue the GCSE and A level subjects that are most important to them
Outstanding pastoral care underpinned by the school’s ethos
Award winning facilities with state of the art science laboratories, art rooms, STEM workshops and theatrical performance spaces
No additional charges for public exam fees, textbooks, co-curricular clubs, theatre trips, entry to competitions or compulsory trips and field studies.
Fees do not include optional extras such as school lunches, overseas trips or extra-curricular instrumental or drama lessons.
A deposit of half a term’s fees is payable on acceptance of a place. This deposit is refunded after a pupil has left, after deduction of any outstanding amounts due to the school. The deposit is not returned if a pupil is withdrawn after the place has been accepted.
The basic fee is set as a mainstream school. The school therefore reserves the right to charge separately for one to one learning support or in-class support where it is lawful to do so. For full details please refer to our Fees List which is contained within our prospectus pack.
Unlike some independent schools Thames remains a charitable foundation. This means that is does not pay dividends to shareholders and thus all income is invested into the delivery of the education your child recieves.
