Thames 6th form 3D design students shine at Jewellery Making Workshop

Year 12 students at Thames Christian School's 3D Design programme recently participated in a hands-on jewellery making workshop led by master goldsmith Paul Ravn. Over the course of two days in Ravn's studio in SE London, students honed their skills in crafting intricate pieces.

Under Ravn's expert guidance, students created stunning rings from sterling silver. They learned essential techniques such as hand sawing, filing, shaping, soldering, and polishing the precious metal. Additionally, students were taught how to skillfully set stones into their creations, adding an extra layer of craftsmanship to their work.

The workshop not only provided students with practical experience but also fostered creativity and a deeper appreciation for the art of jewellery making. The students left the workshop with newfound skills and a sense of accomplishment, ready to apply their knowledge to future projects in their 3D Design journey.
