£9,700 Raised For Charity
Our annual Sponsored Cross Country raised £9,700 in aid of the two main charities supported by the school, Go MAD in Tanzania and A21 Campaign. £1,500 has been donated to A21 which works towards abolishing human trafficking. Go MAD exists to improve the health and living standards in the Diocese of Mara. £4,000 will pay for two 19,000 litre water tanks in primary schools with no clean water, £2,700 will help fund mobile health clinics to visit remote rural villages to test for malaria, give out worm tablets, weigh babies and vaccinate the under 5s. Deforestation and drought is a huge problem in this part of Tanzania and £1,500 will help pay for tree planting in the area. Go MAD's reforestation work has contributed to them becoming a representative of The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy. We are making plans to resume our annual trip to Tanzania with a Year 12 trip in October 2023.
