6th Form Students Enter Orwell's World: “1984” performance enhances academic insight

Our Sixth Form students delved into George Orwell's "1984" during a live performance at Hackney Town Hall. The play, an adaptation of Orwell's renowned novel "1984," featured a stellar cast, enhancing the dystopian narrative.  Studying "1984" as part of their A Level English curriculum, students found the live experience invaluable for understanding complex themes. Witnessing the nuanced character dynamics and societal commentary on stage has provided the opportunity for heightened critical thinking and provided a dynamic perspective on Orwell’s work which is hard to capture in the classroom alone.

Millie, English A Level student said: “Having the opportunity to see “1984” performed on the stage was an amazing experience and given us a new way of thinking and interpreting Orwell’s work”.
