Cross Country Raises £12,320 for Charities Go MAD in Tanzania and A21 Anti-trafficking

On November 22 2023, Thames took part in an inspiring cross-country run on Wandsworth Common, rallying the entire school community in a united effort to support volunteering charity Go MAD and the anti-trafficking organization A21. The event witnessed an impressive turnout, with both students and teachers actively participating to raise funds for these important causes. The collective commitment of the Thames Christian School community resulted in a substantial donation of £12,320 split between Go MAD and A21, underscoring the school's unwavering dedication to philanthropy.

In this year's run, participants covered a remarkable total distance of 1022k, averaging an impressive 6.7 kilometres per pupil. Noteworthy achievements include Lydia from year 9, who clinched the Girls trophy by running an outstanding 12k. The Boys trophy was jointly won by Alex from year 8 and Josiah from year 7, both covering an impressive 12k each.

In the spirited house competition, Barnardo emerged victorious, covering an impressive 264.8k. However, the competition was fierce, with Bonhoeffer hot on their heels, closely following with a total distance of 264k. The Charity Run not only promoted physical activity and a sense of community but also spotlighted Thames Christian School's solidarity in addressing social issues and contributing to the betterment of society.
