Thames Students Explore Barcelona

Students studying Spanish and Art, accompanied by teachers Ms Ana Lopez and Mr David Adkins, have recently returned from a successful educational trip to Barcelona. The trip was open to pupils in Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 with interests in art, architecture, food, and the Spanish culture.

Benefiting from unseasonably warm weather, the group followed a packed itinerary. They visited key city sights, including Las Ramblas, Plaça Reial, the Mercado de La Boqueria and a guided tour of the old city. Antoni Gaudi's renowned works, Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, were also on the agenda. The students visited the Picasso Museum, took a night walk to the beach, and participated in a practical tapas lesson, adding a flavourful touch to their cultural exploration.

This trip not only provided a hands-on experience of the subjects but also allowed students to connect with each other and build lasting memories. As they return, the educational benefits and cultural exposure gained from this Barcelona expedition are expected to leave a lasting impact on their academic journeys.
