Delta Racing Triumphs at F1 in Schools Regional Finals
At last week’s Thursday assembly, Mr. Smith introduced an exciting new schoolwide initiative called Immeasurably More. The initiative is designed to inspire students to unlock their full potential and step into their best selves.
To illustrate the concept, Mr. Smith used the powerful analogy of a seed. He explained that, although a seed may seem small, it has the potential to grow into something vast, citing the towering Canadian redwood tree, which can soar over 300 feet tall. This powerful image reminded students that no matter how small or insignificant they might feel at times, each of them has the potential to grow into something extraordinary.
However, Mr. Smith also addressed the barriers that many of us face on the path to growth. He spoke about how, often, we hold ourselves back by fearing failure. The mindset of “If I don’t try, I can’t fail” is one many students can relate to. But Mr. Smith emphasized that failing is not the end—it’s an opportunity to learn and grow.
“Like a seed,” he said, “we need to push through the dirt to reach new heights. The challenge is not to sit still, wait, and expect things to happen, but to step up and take action. Not perfect, but getting stronger every day.”
The Immeasurably More initiative is more than just about academics—it’s about building resilience, developing character, and embracing challenges. The goal is for students to recognize the immense power within them and step boldly into the greatness that God has planned for them.
We are excited to see how our students will respond to this challenge, growing in confidence and resilience as they pursue their best selves. Stay tuned for more updates on how Immeasurably More unfolds at Thames Christian School!
