Innovative Minds Inspire During British Science Week at Thames Christian School
To close out British Science Week, Thames Christian School welcomed two incredible speakers. On Monday, Irina Gorbounova, a senior executive at ArcelorMittal Ltd, captivated students with her presentation on the XCarb® Innovation Fund, which supports startups developing technologies to accelerate the steel industry's transition to carbon-neutral steelmaking. Her talk inspired students to think about the role of science and innovation in addressing global challenges.
Additionally, Themba Kaonga, a radio-frequency design engineer, joined us digitally to discuss his work on satellite technology. His session gave students a fascinating look into the world of space exploration and communication.
Both speakers emphasised the importance of adaptability and the exciting possibilities that science and technology offer. British Science Week at Thames Christian School sparked curiosity, encouraged innovation, and motivated students to consider how they can contribute to shaping the future.
